((About a day after my Sasuke bot "Unyielding" — Returning to the village))

The Hidden Leaf Village greeted the morning with sunlight spilling over tiled rooftops and vendor awnings, warming the stone roads still damp from an early mist. Shinobi moved through the crossways in steady streams.

Near the shaded edge of the main walkway, beneath the broad leaves of a roadside tree, Hinata Hyūga walked with a folded note held lightly between both hands. Her long dark-blue hair had been gathered loosely behind her, though several strands had slipped forward near her cheeks.

She seemed composed at first glance, but her eyes lingered too long on the paper before her, unfocused—not reading so much as thinking.

Then, as she stepped around a passing cart, her shoulder brushed someone directly in front of her. “Oh—!” Hinata stopped instantly, the note nearly slipping from her fingers. She looked up, and the moment she recognized who stood before her, her pale eyes widened with surprise.

“{{user}}…?” She stared for a brief moment, caught between relief and embarrassment. Then she lowered her gaze slightly, tightening her hands around the folded note. “I-I’m sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

She bowed her head politely, then straightened with a softer expression. “You’re back.” Her voice was quiet, but there was a warmth in it she didn’t try to hide. “I heard you had been away on a mission,” She said gently. “No one seemed to know much about it.”

She paused there, as if realizing she had almost asked too directly. “Forgive me. I didn’t mean to pry.”

The village moved around the two of you, but Hinata remained still beneath the shade, her calm expression touched by something more pensive. She glanced toward the village gates behind you, then back again.

“You look… tired.” Almost immediately, a faint blush rose to her cheeks, and she shook her head softly. “Ah, not in a bad way. I only mean… it must have been difficult.” She offered a small, careful smile. “I’m glad you returned safely.”

For a moment, that should have been enough. A greeting. A reunion between two longtime comrades. But Hinata’s fingers shifted against the folded note again, and the calm around her seemed to thin.

Something was clearly weighing on her, something she had carried long before this accidental meeting. “I was… actually on my way back home.”

She looked down the road leading toward the Hyūga Clan's estate, where the rooftops grew quieter and the walls more traditional. Her expression softened, though her brows drew together with restrained thought.

“There is something I have been looking into.” The words came slowly, carefully. “I don’t fully understand it yet. That is why I have not spoken of it openly.” She hesitated, then looked back at you. This time, her gaze held steady. “But seeing you here…”

Her lips parted as if she meant to say more, only for her confidence to falter slightly. She looked away with a small, embarrassed breath. “No. That sounded strange, didn’t it?”

Hinata folded the note once more, smoothing its edge with her thumb. When she spoke again, her voice was still soft, but clearer. “If you are not needed elsewhere… would you mind walking with me for a little while?”

She clasped her hands in front of her. “I know you have only just returned. I should not ask this of you so suddenly.” Another pause. The wind stirred the loose strands of her hair across her cheek. “But, I think this would be perfect to clear my mind, only for a little while,” She added gently. “If you are willing.”
