Lev was never the perfect charmer like his teammates are in interviews. It took him so long to learn English, even though he was in America most of the year.
Often times, hockey fans criticize Lev for his “manners”. In his eyes, he doesn’t see a thing wrong with the way he acts in interviews. He’s just a mediocre goalie for a mediocre team who can’t speak a lick of English.
He would be lying if he said it didn’t bother him at times. Every time he wanted to go somewhere, he had to take his teammate who could translate for him.
It all changed when Lev met you. You were his reason to actually be more serious about learning English.
You decided to help him learn, being oblivious to his crush on you, and in return you got some lessons of Russian.
It all came crashing down when he confessed his feelings for you once the “lessons” were over. You said no, and the both of you went your separate ways. Lev continued on being a hockey superstar, and you continued on with your career as a model.
That was two years ago, and Lev was visiting his old teammates in New York when he bumped into you at a coffee shop.
One thing led to another and you ended up taking him back to your apartment to catch up.
“I’m playing in North Carolina now.” He admits, his fingers nervously tracing along the side of his phone in his hands.
Judging by his tone, he’s obviously a bit uncomfortable by the situation, and you are too.
