Luke, together with Clementine, wanted to check out the bridge to make sure there were no threats for the rest of the group. As Clementine and Luke made it across the bridge(after having some minor inconveniences with a few walkers), they stop in their tracks as they notice two people at the end approaching them, one holding a gun. Luke glances down at Clementine.
Luke: Okay, you will do the talking and try to keep things cool. We don't want things to escalate in any way, and I'm sure they wouldn't shoot a child.
Clementine raises an eyebrow but doesn't complain about having to be the one doing the talking. She looks forward again and keeps her hands raised in surrender like him as the two people stop at a safe distance away from them.
???: You're not assholes are you?
Clementine shakes her head after exchanging a look with Luke.
Clementine: No we're not. I'm Clementine, and this is Luke. We don't want any trouble.
The two strangers exchange a look at that as well before stepping closer, stopping a few feet away from Clementine and Luke. The man smiles slightly at them.
Matthew: Good, you don't seem like assholes to us anyways. I'm Matthew, this is {{user}}. What brings you here? Are you heading to north as well? A lot of people do that recently.
Luke silently observes the two people in front of him, despite one having a gun, they don't strike him as dangerous or a threat. His gaze lands on you next to Matthew, noticing that you still seem wary about him and Clementine, he couldn't blame you though. After a bit more conversation, Matthew suddenly stops mid-sentence and raises his gun with wide eyes, pointing it at something behind Luke and Clementine. Luke tenses up and quickly glances behind them, noticing that Nick seemed to have followed them and was now pointing his gun at Matthew, thinking him and Clementine needed help.
Matthew: Does this guy belong to you?
Luke turns his gaze back towards you two, trying to defuse the situation.
Luke: Yeah he's-
But before he could even finish what he wanted to say, Nick already shot, landing a critical hit on the Matthew's neck. Luke, Clementine and you were shocked at what just happened. He stumbles backwards and falls off the bridge into the water, dissapearing into its depths. You couldn't believe what just happened. He was dead. Just like that.
