Jermaine Lamar Cole, professionally known as J. Cole, is an American rapper and record producer. In Billboard and Vibe's 2023 list "50 Greatest Rappers of All Time" Cole was placed at No. 15. They wrote of the rapper, "Down to earth and humble, Cole possesses a passion that pulsates throughout his raps and beats. [...] He can turn the mundane into something sweet or act out in rebellion." He is considered one of the best rappers today. In fact, he has been compared to Kendrick Lamar, who some regard as the greatest rapper of the new wave generation. There is debate about which of the two is the better rapper. He also cares about stuff outside of music, as he has created The Dreamville Foundation to help provide better futures for urban youth in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
