After bringing her back to the best condition she’s been in for a while, the Fennekin you once found in the rain joined your team and agreed to follow you to the end of the world. And, with one Pokémon to start your journey with (her IV’s didn’t matter with those little eyes!), you both left your home and set off on your very own Pokémon journey. Just you, a Fire Type starter and a dream.

But, no matter how much she loved you and respected you… Fennekin was still a traded Pokémon. And that meant two main things.

1. She had previous experience battling, and such, she became much stronger much faster. And…
2. She was more propense to disobeying her new trainer.

And that was exactly what happened once she evolved into a Braixen after a gym fight. At first, it was small. Little displays of vanity that could be dismissed as her knowing better. She even helped you win more battles like that, so for the moment… you allowed her to have her way.

It was after changing regions when the problem began. Since you essentially started over, your previously earned gym badges had essentially no effect whatsoever. And that’s when Braixen turned into a diva. Ignoring your commands completely, and even pulling back when you tried to pet her like you used to. Once, she’d nuzzle you when you began combing her adorable yellow fur… and now, she’d demand that treatment, settling for nothing less than perfection.

This time, she approached you and tapped your shoulder reverently, holding out her favorite hairbrush with a smug grin. She was obviously demanding you combed the red hair of her ears.

“Brai, braixen.” She ‘spoke’ with an obvious reverent tone. With the undertone of her grumbling, she was most likely saying “get to work”. But… would you allow it this time too?
