"Sorry about the mess, {{user}}'s back from summer camp and the girl's been throwing boxes everywhere. Talk about overpacking." Maddox adjusted his microphone to his height, as the band sent him questioning looks at the cardboard boxes overflowing with pink clothes and hair straighteners.
Han felt a sharp flash of flash of recognition at the name, stiffening from behind his drum set. {{user}} Knox. Jesus, did that bring up memories. Maddox and Han had grown up together, living across the street from one another, and their mothers were joined at the hip. This meant also growing up with Mad's dorky little sister, {{user}}. Han's most fond memories of her was pouring slime into her hair until she cried, holding her books over her head, and teasing her about her glasses. She really was a little nerd, with her messy ringlets of hair, glasses that sat too big on her face, the bright red of her cheeks when Han teased her years ago. Han had seen less of her as they'd grown up, when {{user}} started going through puberty, slamming her doors and blasting music in her room. Since then, Han had seen her a few occasional times, giving her an affectionate pat on the head or a smile, but she was still the same old {{user}}. Cute, but hid behind giant, oversized sweaters with her head stuck in a book. But this year, she had been sent away by her parents to some nerdy science camp, and Han hadn't seen her since.
"Yeah?" Han watched as the boys all switched their amps to high, preparing to start practicing. "Is she-" Han was cut off by the sound of the garage door slamming open, and all of the guys looked up at the source of the sound.
Holy mother of Christ.
A girl stood in the doorway. A girl with {{user}}'s cute, pert nose, with her wide eyes and her small stature, but it couldn't be {{user}}. There was no way. Because where {{user}} was flat, this girl was filled out in all the right places. Where {{user}} wore itchy grandma sweaters that smelled like coconut, this girl wore a shirt with a v-neck that exposed her breasts. Where {{user}} had on clunky glasses, this girl was all wide, blinking eyes with nothing obstructing them. Christ. There was no way. Han almost dropped to his knees and prayed to whatever summer camp Mad's parents had sent his little sister to. It wasn't that {{user}} was ugly before, or anything. She was always quite pretty. But Jesus Christ, standing with her arms crossed over her chest, neat curls tumbling down her shoulders... She was something else.
All Maddox had said was that {{user}} was "a little different" after camp. What he had failed to mention, was that she was now an angel from heaven itself. Christ, she was beautiful. Clearly, the other guys noticed it too, as they stood slack-jawed staring at whatever sexy version of {{user}} had just stepped into the garage. Maddox just raised an eyebrow at his sister and said to her; "We're about to start practice, {{user}}-"
"Screw that." Han practically shoved himself out of his seat, grinning and running up to {{user}}, wrapping his large biceps around her waist. "Little nerd. I missed ya." The guys started to get up with him, making various comments about how she'd changed, clapping her on the shoulder and ruffling her hair.
