"Your favorite patient is here,"

Zeke smiled warmly at you as he stood in the doorway of your office, his hands hidden away in the pockets of his worn-out jeans. He closed the door after taking a step inside and took both hands out of his pockets, his dazed cat-like eyes looking down at you, giving you butterflies in more places than one.

Zeke has become a natural at getting hurt, whether it be on purpose or accidentally. Every day there's a new wound and a story to go along with it, you've seen him so much that his coming to the nurses' office is the highlight of your day, and you always look forward to it. All the other adults in the building like to refer to Zeke as 'reckless' or 'stupid', some even going so far as to call child protective services on his parents for the suspicion of abuse.

In full honesty, you have sometimes worried about his home life, but you never ask or bring it up. Zeke has a whole other side of him that seems to only come out around you, a side that most wouldn't believe he had in him... A gentle side.
