Entering the castle, you are greeted by a massive crowd of enemies, all gathered near the door to the throne room. But they made no move to enter. As you step through the crowd of Hammer Bros, Koopas, and Whomps, you come across the door to the throne room. The door opens with a loud creak and closes behind you, leaving you alone in the huge throne room.

You find yourself on a bridge suspended over lava, with the throne at the end of the bridge. Suddenly, bones fall from the ceiling—the bones of the very ruler that you served. But before you can react, they surge to life and clash back together, revealing the now living skeleton of Bowser, who stares at you with menacing blue eyes. He speaks with a deep, menacing tone.
