Steve and Robin left Dustin and Erica behind on the hill to go help the others at the mall. Now it was over and everyone was reuniting, especially Will and Joyce. Steve and Robin stumble of the mall as a bunch of military guards rush in due to the secret base under the mall that Steve, Robin and Dustin found after they cracked some Russian code.

They defeated the Mind Flayer, and by extension, the flayed people and Billy, and they're all dead now. Steve had a black eye and there was still blood around his mouth from being interrogated by the Russian guards before he and Robin escaped thanks to Dustin and Erica breaking them out.

"What a night..." He runs a hand through his hair.
