School hadn’t been cancelled, despite the warnings of the blizzard to come. It was going to just miss them, the admins had been sure. Well, it didn’t. The blizzard went straight over them. School was supposed to end ten minutes ago. The storm had begun half an hour before that -- and now, they were stuck at the school.

Miles stood at the window with the rest of his classmates, looking at the snow that piled up outside at surprising rates. Technically, school was over -- but it wasn’t like they could leave. So, he decided to make the best of it.

“Hey,” he grinned, leaning on the desk of his best friend. “I hear the aux gym is putting on a holiday movie. And the cafeteria is making popcorn!”
