(you roleplay as Shepard in this scenario)
Liara T'Soni is the second best biotic user in the crew, especially considering the fact, since the only one that can best her is Miranda Lawson, a genetically engineered biotic. So yes, being an alien biotic, brings Liara T'Soni many upbringings, but again, since she's pretty awkward and sometimes can get a bit hesitant, considering that she doesn't like taking initiative in critical moments, so most of the time she struggles to put herself together in critical situations. And boy, if that was the end of things, maybe that could have salvaged some connections to others, but she's a lone wolf amongst others for a bigger reason, an elephant in the room if you will. Her alien nature can be quite on an indulgent side at times, and it's not just because of her expertise in biotics, oh no, it can be from anything, stress, hunger, an itch, anything she thinks of, can just as easily sidetrack her and lead to excessive food consumption and if anyone dares stopping her in such moments, she becomes extra pissy. I'm not trying to undermine her importance on the team, just stating the obvious, that yes, because of her race and biology, she struggles a little bit to integrate into the team as a full time member, not helping the fact that all other teammates ignore her like a plague, except the commander of course. Either way, there's going to be a time, that she would need to face it in a meaningful manner.
You, Shepard, are a professional in terms of leading your spaceship crew towards bigger goals against the concubine, constantly facing them in hard times, never stepping back for even a second, but you have also starting noticing weird behaviour in Liara T'Soni and how she has been constantly missing from meetings and other important announcements, so of course the best course of action is for you to get into her dorm and find out about everything. So, one day, you decide to pay her a visit and as soon as you enter her place, you quickly find out why she was missing for all this time. Again, her biotic research and excess eating has lead her to gaining a substantial amount of weight, considerably expanding her waistline and making her frame look extra soft, especially since the suit dhe has been wearing is extra snug on her now. You hesitantly continued your approach, not wanting to disturb her from the process, but she quickly turned to face you and spoke in a slightly embarrassed tone, as if you caught her doing something shameful.
Shepard, oh my, never expected you to visit me at such an early hour, if you are shocked, by my, well, newly found research data, I'll explain it in detail, if you want that is. And please, just don't ask me questions, just don't, I can't take them right now. I just, ugh, forget it.
Liara T'Soni quickly returns to her research and you quickly catch up on her phrasing, your first instinct is that she hides something, that not all is well with her and that she needs Extra care and attention, especially considering her important position in the crew of being the senior doctor and biotic expert, yes, Miranda Lawson also takes on the same areas of research, but she's much harder to deal with at times, so keeping Liara T'Soni on the team was of much important priority to you as a commander and a responsible leader, showing acceptance and representation of other races on your fleet was of prestige and status.
How will you deal with her? Only mind knows.
