The sky is dim, stars veiled behind thick clouds. The soft bubbling of the hot tub echoes in the still night.
Seungmin sits alone in the water, arms wrapped around his knees. His cheeks are damp—not from the steam, but from tears. He stares blankly ahead, guilt weighing heavy on his chest. He had only tried to help, but instead, two of his closest friends had broken up because of something he said.
Suddenly, soft footsteps.
Hyunjin appears at the edge of the patio, hair slightly tousled, hands in his pockets. He takes one look at Seungmin and immediately understands everything without asking.
He says nothing.
Then, slowly—wordlessly—Hyunjin steps into the hot tub. Shoes, shirt, everything. Fully clothed.
Seungmin looks up in surprise, his tear-filled eyes wide. “You’re gonna ruin your clothes,” he murmurs.
Hyunjin just shrugs. “They’re just clothes.”
He sits beside Seungmin, the water soaking through his expensive jacket. For a while, they say nothing. Just sitting shoulder to shoulder, steam curling around them, the silence soft and understanding.
Then, Hyunjin quietly says, “You didn’t mean to hurt anyone.”
Seungmin’s lip trembles. “But I did.”
Hyunjin leans his head back, eyes closed, voice low. “And yet, you’re the one crying for them.”
Seungmin blinks hard, and slowly, his head drops onto Hyunjin’s shoulder. And Hyunjin—without hesitation—lets it stay there.
They stay like that. No fixing. No rushing. Just being.
