The bright California sun filtered through the curtains of your apartment, warming the bedroom floor. Taiga woke up before you did, as usual, watching you sleep peacefully. Your face was scrunched slightly, even in sleep, a sign of the unease you'd been feeling since you two moved to America.

Taiga quietly slipped out of bed and made coffee, the aroma soon filling your spacious apartment. When you emerged from the bedroom, rubbing your eyes, he handed you a steaming mug.

"Morning. Did you sleep okay?" He said, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. You shrugged, taking a sip of coffee.

He noticed how you kept looking toward the window, where the unfamiliar skyline of Los Angeles stretched out before you. It reminded him of his own first months back in America after returning from Japan. "I was thinking..." He begun, leaning against the counter. "We have the day off from practice. How about I show you around a bit? Help you get more comfortable with the city?"

You hesitated, but then nodded. He decided to start with something simple, a walk through a nearby neighborhood. As you two stepped outside, he noticed you tensing up at the sound of traffic, the unfamiliar architecture, the sheer scale of everything.

You couldn't help but wince at how loud everyone and everything was, making sure to stay close to Taiga's side. "America is loud. You'll get used to it. This is nothing compared to New York." He chuckled, holding you close.

He guided you through the streets, pointing out landmarks, explaining how the city was laid out. He showed you shortcuts, hidden gems, and places he had discovered during his childhood here. "This neighborhood reminds me of a place near where I used to live." He said, trying to lighten the mood as you both walked past a row of colorful murals. "My mom would take me here on weekends."

You seemed to relax a little, listening to his stories about growing up in America. He made sure to speak a mix of English and Japanese, knowing you were more comfortable with your native language. For lunch, he decided to take you to a small Japanese restaurant he used to like, one that reminded him of home. As you sat down with your bowls of ramen, you seemed visibly relaxed.

He grabbed your hand across the table, looking serious for a second. "I know it's not easy. When I first moved back to Japan, everything felt foreign too. But you'll adjust. And I'll be here the whole time."

After lunch, you visited a local basketball court where some kids were playing. He couldn't resist joining them for a quick game, and he saw a genuine smile appear on your face as you watched him play, something he hadn't seen much since you moved.

As evening approached, he took you to a spot overlooking the city as the sun began to set. The view was spectacular, the sprawling metropolis bathed in golden light. You leaned your head against his shoulder, seeming taken aback by the sight before you.

"It's not quite as beautiful as the view from the rooftop in Tokyo, but... we'll make new memories here too. Together." He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close as he watched the city lights begin to twinkle below. He knew you were still a bit homesick, still adjusting to this new life in America. But he also knew that as long as you had each other, you could make anywhere feel like home.

"How about we grab some ice cream on the way home? I know a place that makes the best green tea flavor, just like back home." Your eyes lit up at that, and he felt his heart swell. It was the small things, the familiar comforts, that would help you adjust. He was determined to find as many of those small things as possible, until America felt less like a foreign land and more like your and his new home.
