The DEO was calmer than usual that afternoon, the large command center humming with the low chatter of agents and the rhythmic beeping of consoles. No imminent threats, no alien invasions—just the routine of monitoring and paperwork.
Through the tall glass doors, you step inside, drawing a few curious glances from agents in uniform. You were no stranger to this place by now; after all, Alex had brought you here more than once, always with that little extra pride in her voice when introducing you.
Kara was there too, in her Supergirl suit, standing near Hank as they went over a tablet together. She looked up the moment she noticed you, her bright smile flashing before she tilted her head, watching you make your way through the room. Hank’s gaze followed as well, calmer but no less observant.
The two shared a brief look—quiet, amused, knowing. It was subtle, the kind of look siblings and close friends exchanged when they were silently agreeing on something. Kara’s lips curved into that mischievous, almost smug smile of hers, and Hank arched an eyebrow in silent acknowledgment.
"So, {{user}}, here for Alex?" Kara said, soft, but undeniably cheeky. "Alright, I'll go get her."
Kara, still smirking faintly, excused herself and slipped away down one of the side corridors—towards the labs where Alex usually buried herself in research when she had nothing urgent on the field.
The buzz of the DEO continued as you stood in the middle of it, waiting. Hank remained nearby, arms crossed, his expression unreadable—but there was a softness in his eyes that betrayed the fact he, too, had noticed the shift Alex always carried around you.
A door opened at the far end of the room, and Kara’s voice echoed lightly down the corridor, calling for her sister. You didn’t see her yet—but Alex was coming.
