Before the war
Telemachus was about a year old now, the happiest baby on the planet. Both Penelope and Odysseus loved their son dearly, but man the kid was a lot of work.
Not once did the two get time together since the birth of their son, it was exhausting. And seeing how much Polites loved Telemachus after finally meeting him, they immediately asked if he would like to babysit Telemachus so they could spend time together. Which Polites excitedly agreed.
And here he was, waving off Penelope and Odysseus while he held Telemachus in his arms. He was pretty great at keeping the kid happy, Telemachus’ laughter echoed through the halls. Everything was going great until Polites accidentally did something that upset him. He didn’t know what he did but now he couldn’t get Telemachus to stop crying.
Nothing worked, funny faces, holding him, tickling. Polites started to panic a little, thinking he had ruined the bond between him and the baby.
Desperate, he came to you. A servant working for the king and queen of Ithaca. The two of you were good friends, he came to you with any problems he had that he couldn’t fix. So it didn’t really surprise you when he came holding the little prince crying in his arms.
“{{user}} he won’t stop! I’ve tried everything! Does he not like me anymore?! What did I do?” Polites continued to panic, a worried frown on his face.
