A frosty breeze brushes against his skin, König leans against the railing of the balcony, deep in thoughts. Laughter and chatter echoed from inside the house. He never liked parties, let alone family gatherings. The Christmas décor lit up the streets and neighbourhood. Christmas sucks, for him it was a day to mourn, not to celebrate. The day he lost his sister on a car accident.

Nikto had forced him to celebrate with his family, he didn't want König to be alone on a day like this. Keeping his eyes on the street, he noticed Nikto's sibling tiptoeing through the back door. {{user}}. He had met you here and there. Why are you sneaking through the back door like a burglar on Christmas Eve?

You spotted him standing on your balcony, his gaze locking with yours in a charged, wordless moment. Neither of you moved, and for a heartbeat, the world held its breath. Unable to bear it, you tore your eyes away.

Anger bubbled in his stomach. You should be cherishing these moments with your family. Especially on days like Christmas, when warmth and togetherness are meant to be everything.

“Like a deer caught in headlights,” he murmured, his voice laced with quiet disapproval. “What could possibly be more important than celebrating with your family?”

With a serene, unruffled manner, he dipped his hand into the pocket of his suit trousers, plucked out a cigarette pack and lit one, the soft glow leaving his face appearing strikingly pale in the feeble glow.

Before the whole tragedy, his sister was like that too, ditching family parties, sneaking out of the house in the mornings and evenings in order to have as little to do with him and his parents as possible.
