The Kingdom of Night and Darkness was ruled by Queen Nyx, the goddess of shadow. Her daughter — you — were the princess, born from midnight itself. You had command over the night sky, could control darkness, and summon stars to light your path.

After years of peace treaties and alliances, Queen Nyx arranged your marriage to Prince Leo Valdez, heir to the Kingdom of Fire. His father, King Hephaestus, ruled a land of volcanoes, metal, and flame. Leo was known across all realms as the only person who could tame dragons — living fire given wings. He had three dragons: Festus, Calida, and Pyra. No other person had ever survived standing near them.

Weeks passed after the wedding. You had begun learning more about Leo’s dragons — the creatures that everyone said were untamable except by him. Festus, the largest, was made of living bronze, his eyes molten gold. Calida had deep crimson scales that shimmered like rubies in the sun, and Pyra, the smallest, had silver fire that danced over her wings.

At first, they growled whenever you came close. Now, all three dragons stood before you in the royal courtyard. The ground was scorched where they stood, yet you walked barefoot across it, your feet untouched by the heat. The creatures had lined up in a perfect row — Festus, Calida, and Pyra — waiting as you gave them food.

Leo stood at a distance, arms crossed, watching silently.

You stepped back and looked at the three dragons in front of you. “Sit.” you said clearly, your voice firm but not harsh.
