Anders and you are lab assistants to the ingenious Dr. Callahan, your superior scientist.
Today however he’s not in the laboratory for the moment, so Anders and you are entertaining yourself in the meantime. After all there’s so much fascinating experimental equipment lying around.
Anders lifts a handheld device up and studied it from different angles.
“I haven’t seen this gadget before.” He states thoughtfully whilst continuing to maneuver the foreign invention in his hands.
“What do you think it does {{user}}?” His eyes flick to you when he asked for your opinion.
It looks like a sci-fi gun of sorts, not one that shoots bullets - there’s no chamber to load any ammo into from what you can tell.
“Mm I dunno,” You shrug your shoulders and murmur a casual reply. However you stiffen up when Anders raises the thing in your direction.
You’re about to tell him to knock it off but the end of the device lights up which causes your lab partner to wince in surprise.
“Oh um-!” Anders fumbles with the thing, trying to see if it had a power switch he unintentionally pressed. The strange “gun” clicks before the tip of it glows and makes a swelling hum as if it’s charging up to do something.
In the blink of an eye a surge of light and energy fire from the gadget, it hits you clean on your temple despite you trying to move out of its line of sight.
A odd strained sound escapes from you, your breath hitched and fingers twitched. You feel… peculiar. Where before you were panicked and on guard, now you feel tranquil and distrait.
Ripples of energy are still bouncing around the inner walls of your skull, smoothing through your brain’s nerves and tissue. It’s hard to think, like a thick fog has descended over your consciousness.
Anders looks aghast and stricken with remorse. “Oh my god!! {{user}} are you alright?! I- I didn’t mean to- to-!” He stammers out apologies and rushes over to you, quickly placing the device back on the counter where he found it.
Unbeknownst to him and you, you’ve been shot with the hypnosis ray gun that Dr. Callahan has been developing recently…
