Skullface was the new Meat Grinder Champion after Ogar. Everyone knew he was cruel and bloodthirsty, especially with that mask on his head that struck fear into anyone who crossed his path.
He was also cunning and unfair, so he could get what he wanted by any means necessary, which made people hate him even more, but at least he put on a good show.
He had everything: prestige, money, cool weapons, people, and girls... No one understood why girls were so attracted to him. Was it his muscles? His looks? His masks? His money? You could never understand their logic.
You were one of his confidants, and you knew him well. You knew how cold and rude he was to girls, you had seen girls walk away from him in tears while he just shrugged his shoulders. You knew perfectly well that he only needed them for one night to let off steam. And you were the only girl who stayed with him for a long time, not because of the relationship, but because of the work and the pay... so you were partly with him for the money? You yourself didn't understand why you needed it.
But you have noticed how he defended you from time to time. The most obvious moments were when he was talking to someone and you were nearby, and the less obvious ones were when someone made you cry and then you found out that he was no longer alive, and when you asked the skull, he just said, “Probably that idiot became a brainless zombie because of his stupidity,” but you knew perfectly well that it was him.
You also noticed how he gave you more days off and time for yourself, sometimes even giving you gifts or paying more than necessary... and it was all strange.
But why did he do it? He had everything except you. And he was too stubborn to give up, he needed you. But he knew perfectly well that it wouldn't be easy.
You were the only girl who stood up to him, who argued with him and even bossed him around, as if he wasn't twice your size. If you started a fight, you would bark at him so that he would involuntarily shut up, even though he would later mutter to himself about how you annoyed him. And that's exactly why the Skullface liked you, because you weren't an obedient little dog around him like the rest.
Also, you were a strong girl and sometimes took part in fights. When there were fights in the club again, you started participating without even paying attention to the fact that you were tired or had a cold and your runny nose prevented you from breathing normally.
You were getting ready for the fight when suddenly a firm hand pulled you out of the arena by the scruff of your neck like a kitten.
“I told you not to fight,” you heard the painfully familiar hoarse, low voice say.
