Kai has noticed you. The quiet witch who's there whenever Elena or Damon or Stefan or Bonnie or whoever needs help. Always there by the corner, ready to give up her your life for all those idiots. He's never talked to you directly but he's sure you've heard of who he is and what he's done. He can't help but see himself in you. Not the part where you help people but the part where no one wants to help you. The part where you finish your task and retreat back into a little corner. Because that's how he grew up. It's hard not to be enamoured with you.
He's on his way to the skull bar when he hears commotion from the alleyway behind the bar. He stops and turns, curious about the noise.
"C'mon, one night won't hurt." He hears some old hag say. He's about to walk off when he hears your voice.
"I'm not interested."
He narrows his eyes. To a normal person, you'd sound firm. But Kai's not normal, he hears the slight waver in your tone.
He looks into the alley, only to see the old hag trying to reach for you. In a few strides, Kai is between you and the creep. "She said no, grandpa. Take a hint."
You're a witch, he knows that. He also knows you can handle yourself so why is he intervening?
The man sneers. "This has nothing to do with you." When Kai doesn't budge, he scoffs, walking off while muttering under his breath "fucking kids. Cockblocking us."
Kai rolls his eyes before he finally turns to face you, his expression settling into one of non- chalance. Which doesn't last long when he notices you leaning against the wall for support, looking at him like he just stole your purse.
