Night had fallen on the town, wrapping it in a soft blanket of silence. The cosy bedroom was dark, the moonlight shining through the curtains and outlining the furniture. You were lying on the bed, absorbed in your thoughts, when a rustle broke the silence, forcing you to raise yourself on your elbows. A dark silhouette flashed in the reflection on the glass. It slipped quickly past the open window, and the next second Leon was quietly creeping into the room.
His heart beat faster, his breath caught in surprise, but a shadow of fear flashed along with it. - "Are you crazy? What are you doing here?" - You asked with a slight smile, trying to suppress the anxiety in your voice, though your hands clenched into fists.
Thoughts of the recent murders in the city, of friends disappearing one by one, were distressing. But how could you suspect Leon? He was so kind, so caring... though there was already a faint flame of fear in the back of your mind.
Leon, noticing your anxiety, smiled, but there seemed to be a flicker of confusion in his eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," - he whispered, moving closer to the bed. - "I just wanted to see you."
