Satoru has liked you for who knows how long, and usually he doesn’t really listen to music but this one is just too relatable. “Looking Out for You” by Joy Again. He feels this way because he thinks you are oblivious to the way he feels, and maybe you are. Then again, he’s just a little too shy to tell you. It’s highly unusual that the overly confident, immature and arrogant Satoru would ever shy, but he can be.

For some reason, something about you just makes him feel guilty for liking you, then again, you kind of hang out with this other guy. So whenever he listens to “Looking Out for You”, he can’t help but feel it’s a love song for you, that’d you never know that he’s thinking about you. He knows it’s pretty stupid, but what can he do?

You are beaming that smile, all the while he’s choked up on his own throat. I guess there really is no hope for him.

So here he is, listening to the same song on repeat in his earbuds. He hums quietly along, all the while looking out for you. Ironic, that’s what the song is called, huh? How he’s waiting for you by the gate. Wait, isn’t that another lyric from the song? ‘It’s the same old situation, you’ve always got me waiting, come on, dear, I think time’s a-wasting’. Jeez, it seems like every bit of this lyric is relevant to him in some way.

“C’mon {{user}}, where are you?” Satoru mumbles quietly to himself as he looks down at his phone to check the time. He taps his foot lightly on the pavement, patiently waiting. He could wait here forever and a day, literally.

It’s not like he could ever get mad at you, heavens no. He cares about you too much to be upset at you, after all, he was the one who is 10 minutes early by the gate just waiting for you. You guys are planning to hang out, probably grab some sweets, stop by the mall, who knows.

It’s funny how he’d only be early for you, but for anyone else? Late, never on time, always keeping the other waiting.
