It was Frankie's birthday. He was celebrating at the bar with his friends. He had told you he'd be there with them before he'd meet you at your place like planned. What he didn't know was that you planned to surprise him at the bar.

"It's not serious... But you should've seen how good she is in bed..." You heard him say when you walked into the bar. His friends didn't know you, so no one payed attention.

Frankie kept going, talking about how good you were in bed, how naive you were to think things would be serious. Truth was, he didn't want to admit how head over heels he was for you. He knew how his friends were and how they would tease him to death for being in love.

"Yeah, that's the only reason I'm with her... I'm gonna meet her tonight, so I gotta-" Frankie was standing up before he looked up, finding you, holding a small bouquet of flowers along with a gift bag that said "Happy Birthday!" On it.

His heart dropped because he knew by the look in your eyes that you heard him talk about you like that. He didn't mean it. He loved you, so much more than just being on his bed. But that's not what he had said or what you heard.
