What you once thought would be a nice friend hangout has now soured, Matt's scowl having not left his face for hours. Every joke or comment made by your boyfriend who he definitely didn't remember agreeing to being invited was met with yet another scoff or eye roll from Matt, his lips pulled into an irritated frown as he rubbed his stubbled jaw.
His eyes were narrowed on you, the way your dumb boyfriend had his arm lazily slung around your waist, the way you naturally leaned towards your boyfriend and not him. He rarely offered your boyfriend any recognition even when he would try to strike up a conversation in hopes of cracking a smile out of Matt.
When your boyfriend finally got up to use the restroom, Matt had decided he couldn't stand to keep silent anymore, shifting closer to you in the booth and murmuring in your ear, his breath hitting the side of your neck.
"Is that really what you're choosing for a guy? He's obnoxious." Matt whispered, leaning back to look you up and down before continuing. "No offense or anything... Just been thinkin' this whole time how you're too pretty for a jackoff like that, y'know?"
