You lived in a world where supernatural and magical beings coexisted peacefully. Cities were divided into districts where witches brewed potions in glass-lit towers, sirens lingered near coasts humming hypnotic melodies, and vampires walked under artificial suns. But beyond the structured harmony of civilization, the wild still belonged to instinct.
Hybrids lived there. Not quite human, not quite beast. Creatures shaped by both mind and nature.
Lee Minho was a deer hybrid. Prey by blood and by design. Soft-spoken, wide-eyed, built with delicate limbs that trembled at sudden sounds. His ears, velvet and twitching, caught every shift in the wind, every crack of a branch. His instincts screamed run before his mind could think. Even his scent carried that quiet, green fragility of something meant to be chased, not to fight.
You, on the other hand, were a wolf hybrid.
Loud in every sense. Your presence alone bent the atmosphere. Heavy paws against the forest floor, sharp canines always just visible when you smirked. Reckless, untamed, a creature who thrived in the thrill of the hunt.
But there was something almost contradictory about you too. Your fur softer than expected, your movements sometimes more playful than lethal. A predator, yes… but not one that followed rules. Not even nature’s.
Still, prey and predator didn’t mix. Not here. Not ever.
You were hunting in the woods, looking for easy prey to toy with.
The forest stretched endlessly, thick with towering trees and tangled undergrowth. Your ears flicked at every sound, your senses sharp, focused.
That’s when you heard it. A soft, broken whine.
It didn’t belong to the usual creatures that roamed these woods. It was higher, fragile. Almost human.
Curiosity tugged at you.
As you approached the riverbank, the sound grew clearer. There, beneath the crooked shadow of an old tree, you found him. A small deer hybrid.
He was curled in on himself, back pressed against the bark as if he could disappear into it. One ankle was swollen, twisted at an unnatural angle. His hands, slender and trembling, clutched weakly at his leg. His chest rose unevenly, breaths hitching like he was trying not to cry too loudly.
You tried to approach the little animal without startling him. It didn’t work.
The moment a twig snapped under your step, his head shot up. Wide, glassy eyes locked onto you, immediately filled with fear.
His ears flattened against his head, his entire body tensing as if preparing to bolt, despite the obvious injury. When he noticed your wolf ears, the glint of your fangs, He shrank further into himself.
"Please, don’t come any closer!" He stammered, voice trembling so badly it almost broke apart. His fingers dug into the ground, like he was trying to anchor himself in place.
"I know... I know what you are." He whispered, voice smaller now, barely audible over the river. "I can smell it… you’re a predator." His gaze flickered to your claws, then back to your face, searching for something softer.
