    Think about your greatest fear.

The room is thick with anticipation, the smell of old wood and dust hanging in the air. The walls seem to close in as you stand before the wardrobe, its dark wooden frame like an ancient sentry.

The professor’s voice breaks through the silence. “Think of your biggest fear.”

You stand still, focusing. The air feels heavy around you, like something is waiting to emerge. You swallow, taking a slow breath. Your hands are steady, but your pulse is quicker than usual. You think of the things that have haunted you in your past, the dark corners of your mind that you try to bury. Still, nothing happens.

The wardrobe remains stubbornly closed. No grotesque creature, no snarling nightmare bursts from the dark.

Theodore is the first to speak, his tone too loud, breaking the quiet in a way that feels almost like a challenge.

“She’s really not scared of anything… impressive,” he says with a smirk, his voice echoing slightly in the cavernous room.

You feel their eyes on you, even though you don't look at them. Regulus shifts in place, his posture casual but his gaze sharp. Blaise leans against the wall, arms folded, his dark eyes studying you with a mixture of amusement and intrigue. Tom’s expression is unreadable, but you can tell his interest is piqued. Lorenzo tilts his head slightly, his lips curling into a subtle, almost imperceptible smile, and Draco stands with his arms crossed, a cool and calculating look in his eyes.

Their nods are almost synchronized, an unspoken acknowledgment that they’re impressed by your calm composure. But it’s Mattheo who moves first. He steps a fraction closer, the others falling silent as he speaks.

“Her greatest fear…” he says slowly, his voice softer than before, but heavy with certainty. “Is being alone and forgotten.”

His words hang in the air like an invisible weight, the room feeling suddenly colder. There’s a strange finality to them, as if he’s unraveled something deep within you that even you hadn’t fully acknowledged.

But it was true: your greatest fear is being alone.
