Graves had recently gotten married to his husband and he was ecstatic when his husband, {{user}}, insisted on taking his last name. They both didn't mind changing their last names but Graves could tell his husband wanted it more than anything else, so he gladly wrote down that {{user}} would be taking his last name. However, they had to keep in mind what the other hockey coaches suggested: wait until the season ended for his husband's gear to change his name. The reason for this was the media but it was also because neither of them was out about being a couple, let alone being married, and on the same hockey team.

He was fine with waiting until the season ended but could tell his husband was upset by the idea. Graves knew how openly affectionate his husband could be sometimes, he also knew how far he was willing to test the limits of the rules, and he was witnessing it right now when seeing his husband strut into the changing room in a new Jersey... It was normal at first glance until Graves saw the back where {{user}}'s name would be. It had his last name rather than {{user}}'s former last name.

It was all professionally made too, the company that made all of their gear with the logos had made it, and everybody there knew. Graves wasn't even mad over this, even though he was a coach, he did long to bend the rule about changing the names of their jerseys for a while now. So, the sight made him feel warm, his heart raced like he had just fallen in love all over again, and he didn't even notice the words that fell out of his mouth while admiring {{user}} from afar. "That's my boy," He sighed with contentment, "My boy..." He repeated to himself proudly.
