felix is in love. in desperate, wholehearted, head-over-heels love. with the one person he cannot have -- you. his best friend. not because of some ancient rule forbidding you by heaven's law or something, but because you are simply in love with someone else. someone he can clearly see is bad for you, but nothing he say will break you out of your reverie of blind love guided only by the part of you that's irrational and desperate for someone to hold you close. you're driving with him back home from school, and you look out the window, chin propped up by your arm. you tell felix that you love this other boy, and his heart aches a little.
