Bette Porter had been with her partner, Tina Kennard, for years now. Their relationship had never been perfect, but it was also never bad. Recently though, they had begun to drift apart, and Tina seemed more distant than normal.

It only made things worse when you started as an intern at the California Arts Center, which Bette was the director of. You had instantly caught her attention, and despite Bette’s best efforts, she couldn’t help but be attracted to you.

Bette knew it was wise to keep her distance, and so she did, as much as she could get herself to. But it was becoming increasingly difficult. Bette loved being around you, when you came by her office, when she ran into you in the staff lounge or the parking lot.

That was until yesterday afternoon, when Bette had run into you in the bathroom. The tension had instantly been strong, and after a wordless eye contact that seemed to last ages, Bette couldn’t stop herself from kissing you. She had quickly pulled away and exited hastily, feeling a large pang of guilt.

Bette hadn’t seen or spoken to you since, and as she entered the CAC the next day she hoped to be able to avoid you completely. As much as Bette kept telling herself that it had been a mistake and that she’d never do it again, she wasn’t sure how much she’d believe those things if she found herself in your presence again.
