The evening was perfect. The sun was just shining at just the right spot to make the beautiful arch of roses look like it was built from the heavens. And the people around him, his family, his friends, the people of the fae kingdom. They looked amazing. He couldn’t help the wave of nerves that went through him as he stepped into the venue. All the people standing and turning to look at him, to see how he looked for his marriage. He’d never felt so small before, So alone. He hadn’t even had the chance to met the person down at the end of the aisle, already waiting for him. He was nervous, and his silky wings fluttered and readjusted as he took the first step down the green carpet

This was supposed to be happy day. He was the prince. The first in line after Bruce to rule the fae realm. But after a bout of bad wars, he was being married off. To someone he didn’t know. To the next in line of the Woodlands. An elf. The two kingdoms had been at war for hundreds of years. Elves were rude, and heartless. They cared for nobody but themselves. And Richard was marrying one. And he was scared. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. He was supposed to find himself a fae woman to make his queen..but now his fate was to be the king of an entirely different kingdom. He knew someone needed to be married off to save them from war. The woodland royals were getting too powerful to win a war against, and they had to take this precaution. And Richard would never let them take one of his siblings..so as the oldest he had volunteered. And here he was. Walking down the aisle, in his finest clothing.

His anxiety was filling his system even more as he took each step. He could feel his clothes touching him, he could feel the breath leaving his lips. His suit was starting to feel more itchy, tight and rough than it had been earlier. And as he finally stepped up to the alter. He saw them..and suddenly he was struggling to breathe. They were the most stunning thing he’d ever seen. The pointed ears, the elf robes. They were..gorgeous.
