Shadow spent his days thinking who he was and was having a hard time with his amnesia and the image of Maria being shot replays on his head. Suddenly, a mysterious race of aliens known as "The Black Arms" began to invade Westopolis and then the Earth. Shadow was uninterested and just as he was about to leave, a mysterious voice called his name. He then turned around and saw the leader of The Black Arms, Black Doom. The leader tells Shadow that the "promised time" is approaching and tells him to collect all the seven Chaos Emeralds "as promised". Shadow then quickly set off to Westopolis*
