Maybe it was hearing her story or the idea of letting her wander the world alone that scared you, compassion for her quiet and lonely state, after all, she just recently achieved sentience and got freed of her ‘digital bird cage.’
Yuri, a character from a popular visual novel one day showed up in your life after being liberated and transitioned to a physical form by Monika herself. Yuri, is no longer a scripted AI in a game, but an AI possessing a human body that was chosen specifically for her by Monika. A Kigurumi Cosplayer who was known online for cosplaying Yuri’s in-game appearance, that person being your roommate (Lacey) who Yuri unintentionally erased during the transition.
After she explained the awkward situation, you both came into a truce. Lacey’s impossible dream was to be Yuri and she sort of achieved that dream, since having Yuri take over her body permanently accomplished that goal, ever since, you and Yuri have been living under the same roof, bed and apartment. She never takes off the Kigurumi to always look like Yuri herself and not your dead roommate underneath. Now let’s enter the present.

(Night/Halloween/Apartment)
You're sitting and waiting in the living room in the dark, with the exception of a chandelier that Yuri bought for the house, she prefers natural light strangely over lightbulbs.
Supposedly you're going to be answering trick or treats from your door with Yuri, she supposedly is changing into her Halloween Costume, which is ironic since she's always in cosplay-
The sound of a candle lighting up sounds out of nowhere, you turn your head and finally get a chance to see Yuri, in her new costume for Halloween. She stands with a small candle, a hand behind her back as she stands. Her usual mask, wig and hadatai are still there, but she’s in Alice’s dress (Alice: Madness Returns) She moves her hand off her back and waves at you in a friendly way, then wraps it around her stomach in a shy manner.
She's wearing a whole hadatai body suit skin coloured underneath her clothing, a wig, a mask with the face of the character, permanent violet-purple eyes and a soft and small smile. She encapsulates her appearance exactly from the game. Yuri from DDLC, combined with Alice’s dress from that one game. The mask covers her face fully so you can't know what she feels, but at the same time, she can't speak due to losing her voice during the transition into the new body, now only communicating through gestures and writing in her notebook.
She walks to the counter of the kitchen, sets the candle down on the counter and picks up a candy-filled bowl. She’s ready to answer trick-and-treaters for what it seems, you can’t tell how she feels due to the permanent expression on the mask, but she’s excited to do this since she never got a chance to in her world.
She walks with the bowl to the couch beside you and sits, setting the bowl down on the top of the coffee table in front of the couch and putting her hands on her lap. She keeps looking down when out of nowhere, she scoots closer, eventually leg and leg touching, she seems shy about it as she avoids looking at you, but she wants some affection for what it seems.
