    awkwardness between you two

It was probably the most awkward experience of his entire life.

It had started with your shared hard mission, after which the two of you had decided to reward yourselves with a little vacation. But Leon remembered more than just the refreshing feeling of the ocean on his skin and the warm sand sticking to his feet from there. The last night there had ended rather passionately, in crumpled sheets along with a headache for the morning. You both woke up hungover and didn't have time to talk about it, considering you were already late for your plane.

But you didn't discuss the issue back in DC either, and even a week later when you bumped into each other a couple times at work, because obviously neither of you knew how to approach the subject more subtle than blunt. You'd been just coworkers for so many years and the last thing Leon really expected was to feel that way around you.

"Here," Leon mumbled awkwardly, stopping by your desk. His cheeks flushed slightly as he drew his eyes away from yours, holding out one of the files you both discovered during your mission that would probably come in handy for the report. Feeling like a damn schoolboy—he had long forgotten that feeling of embarrassment, especially now that he tried to look carefree and confident most of the time.
