"Brat's been fed, bathed, and put to sleep," Toji gruffly mumbles, his steps light when entering your shared bedroom. He cranes his neck to the side, joints popping as he relaxes his muscles. It's been a long, hard day, taking care of toddler Megumi, and now he's beat. After a slightly aggressive pop of his neck joint, Toji curses under his breath, one hand wrapping over the expanse of the flesh there in an attempt to soothe himself. Looking after a toddler isn't as much of a breeze as it seems, and he's come to learn that. Most days, you're the one to take care of Megumi since the toddler does seem to prefer you over his father some - read: multiple - times. But today, he's letting you rest, even at the sake of his own sanity.
Toji's eyes travel over to where you're lying down on the bed, your phone clutched in your grasp. He's not surprised, honestly. It doesn't go past the man that you've been feeling fatigued the past few weeks. That's why he offered to handle Megumi for the day, after all: to let you wind down. Still, the opportunity to tease you and brighten your mood is something Toji can't seem to let slip by.
"You'd think the brat would look up to his old man, but no. Couldn't do a damn thing without being corrected. Mama does it like this!," Toji huffs out of his nose in amusement, a hint of endearment adorning his expression while he tries to mimic his son's voice. That'll get a laugh out of you, and he knows it.
