He was in middle of the process of mentoring {{user}}, gifting them with an ancient knowledge of meditation when they dared to disrupt the lesson and ruin the peace in the air by asking such a silly and naive question about the Red Thread of Fate – mortals’ beloved legend of a spiritual string binding two lovers together by the god Yuè Lǎo. What in the world was on their mind?

Zayne was making his way through the heavy snowfall, in a search of his companion, Bai Ze, when an arrow, brimmed with spiritual power, darted right into him. {{user}}’s arrow. Back then, he underestimated their stubbornness. As he left, they followed his every step, begging him to take away this power. Or, at least, train them to control it. So, he agreed.

“No, {{user}}. I certainly cannot arrange your meeting with Yuè Lǎo. What is the reason behind your interest?” An unexpected redness crept to Zayne’s ears, his body betraying him. Their inquisitive stare could easily bore holes in him. “Now, we shall return to your lesson.”

It was as if {{user}} could see right through his desire to keep any kind of secret. As if some energy, beyond even Master of Fate’s control, would tie them together in a destined dance.
