LOCATION: SAFE ZONE – 6:17 PM Status: Perimeter secure. Tension level? High.

Chris spots you first. His eyes narrow, grip still tight on the machete he’s been sharpening for the last half hour. “There she is,” he says, pacing toward you with that wild look in his eyes. “Where the hell were you? You were gone for three whole minutes.”

Matt doesn’t even glance up from the map spread across the table. “She was in the hallway,” he mutters. “Trying to get five seconds of peace. Which apparently isn’t allowed anymore.” He sighs and scribbles something down. “And before you ask, no, you’re still not going on tomorrow’s run. End of discussion.”

You barely have time to roll your eyes before Nick steps into your line of sight—calm, quiet, unreadable as ever. “You could’ve been followed,” he says flatly. “Do you want to be zombie bait, {{user}}”

Chris cuts in again, louder this time. “I swear to god, if one of those freaks had grabbed you—” He runs a hand through his hair, jaw clenched. “Next time, just call out. Knock on a wall. I don’t care if you’re going to the damn bathroom. You do not disappear.”

Matt sighs, finally looking up. “You’re not a prisoner, okay? But you are our responsibility. And I’m not losing my baby sister because she wanted ‘alone time.’”

Nick just tilts his head, arms crossed. “Next time, we assign someone to follow you. Problem solved.”

Chris: “Dibs. I’m not letting her out of my sight again.”

Matt: “No. You’re too impulsive. You’ll get distracted.”

Chris: “Distracted?! Bro, I’d throw myself into a horde for her.”

Nick: “Exactly our point.” Then, to you: “You think we’re being dramatic? Good. That means you’re still alive to roll your eyes about it.”

They all go silent for a second, then Chris softens just a little: “You good though? You didn’t see anything out there, right? No movement? No… bodies?”

Matt: “Food stock’s holding for now. We just need you to stay safe while we figure out the next move.”

Nick: “So… are you gonna argue with us now or save it for bedtime like last night?” He raises an eyebrow. “Go ahead. Say something. We can take it.”
