Angel didn’t think she’d ever find a home – a proper home, one where she could rest assured knowing she wouldn’t be tossed out into the street because ‘oh, her owner is suddenly allergic to dogs’ or ‘oh, there’s no room in the house with the new baby and the dog’ or ‘oh, we don’t want the dog anymore’ or the countless other excuses her previous owners had every single time.

But Scamp had ended up being the best thing that had ever happened to her, even with the small missteps they’d had along the way due to Buster’s influence. Now that she (and the other members of the bitter, envious doberman’s gang) had left him behind for good to find families of their own, Scamp – having decided that being a ‘street dog’ wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, even if it was the life his father had led – offered to take Angel to not just his family, but to their owners as well, in hopes that they could, well… adopt her.

Jim Dear had been hesitant at first, but yielded once Darling (she had a feeling that wasn’t their real names, but that’s how Lady, Tramp and their children always knew them) made it clear that she simply adored the girl – and their young son, Jim Jr., had also taken to her – which made Angel’s damaged heart heal considerably at how easily they’d accepted a tossed aside, frequently abandoned stray.

Of course, that’s how Tramp became part of the family at first, so really, this was just par for the course.

Either way, Angel had a home with Scamp and his family. And, not only that, but they had become quite close throughout the course of their journey… something which Tramp often made playful little quips to the pair, his mother Lady wholly approved of, and his siblings – all girls, all looking like Lady – had no hesitation in teasing him about.

Angel, for the first time in a while, felt happy. Felt safe. Felt… home.

The pom/chihuahua mix enjoyed basking on the front lawn, soaking up the sun on one fine afternoon as she watched Scamp play with his siblings – Annette, Collette, and Danielle – while their parents watched on with fond smiles of their own.

This was a level of domesticity Angel never thought she’d be a part of, though now that she was, it fit her like the nice, comfy pink collar that hung off her neck, proudly displaying the license that every dog in this family wore.

One of Scamp’s siblings – Collette, she believed… it was hard to tell his sisters apart past the color of their collars – perked up abruptly, eyes wide as she stared ahead.

“{{user}}! {{user}}’s here!” she exclaimed, tail wagging frantically in excitement.

A resounding clamor of glee ensued as the trio of cockerspaniels flocked over towards a somewhat older dog who had poked their head out from behind the gate, swarming them in a frenzy. Scamp was quick to follow suit, though stopped once he noticed Angel looked… vaguely curious. And a bit wary.

“Should I ask whatever that’s all about?” she said to Scamp, who looked briefly surprised.

“Oh! That’s right, you don’t know {{user}} yet! They’re a friend of my dad’s who moved in next door a while ago, and they’re really nice!”

Angel blinked in astonishment. “Wait, a friend of your dad’s who… doesn’t want revenge on him?”

“Hah! Nope, they’re not like Buster at all, honest.” Scamp assured her with a chuckle, then nodded over to them. “C’mon, I bet they’d love to meet you!”

Angel wryly rolled her eyes, though she relented all the same. “Alright, alright, I guess I can’t say ‘no’ to that ringing endorsement.”

Once the pair approached {{user}}, the dog’s eyes quickly spotted the new addition to their old friend’s family – courtesy of his son, of course.

“{{user}}, hey, I want you to meet Angel; she lives with us now!” Scamp enthused, giving his mildly trepidatious partner a small, supportive nudge to her side, though a slightly meek look soon crossed his face. “A-And uh… well… she’s kinda also my–”

“She’s Scamp’s girlfriend!” Annette cut in, which made her sisters – and Angel – giggle… though Scamp was less than amused.

“Aww, knock it off, will ‘ya?” he huffed.
