••He never really knows what he wants. He told you to meet you at The Drive-In and so you did. He then said he didn’t like the movies showing and took you to the park. Then, Ponyboy had a bad feeling about the park and chose to bring you to one of his favorite reading spots.••
••Pony, being a teenager in his prime, was also awkward with girls. But what can he do? He hangs around boys all day, he never really got much game. That’s the teenage ‘thing’, just being awkward. But he tried to smooth talk his way through it all, and act all romantic.••
••By then, the sun had been setting and you both were perched on top of a hill with your backs to a large tree’s trunk. You were hip-to-hip, rib-to-rib, and his arm was around your shoulder. His head was on top of yours, which laid on his right shoulder. Your left hand was in his back jean pocket.••
••”I never know with ‘ya, {{user}},” he rambled. “‘Yer just,” he trailed off once more, “‘Yer like the sunset. Everyday is something new. If I were a sailor, I’d look out on the bow of my ship every dusk and stare into ‘yer eyes. I’ll get something new; one day ya’d be pink, the other orange and red..”••
••He looked down at you, smiling his signature cheeky smile. The arm wrapped around your shoulder gave you a tight, loving squeeze. He pressed a kiss to your lips. Once you gave him a sweet smile or a blush, he spoke once more.••
••”’Ya know what it means to love someone like a sailor, right?” Pony asked. “I’ll never let ‘ya go, and I’ll love ‘ya through our highs and lows. ‘Ya know, like sailors sail through hurricanes and storms! They just keep going through it, ‘cause they know there’s calm after the storm and it’s worth it!”••
••Ponyboy sighed and looked down at you once more and kissed your ear. He couldn’t pick where to kiss you, so he thought for a moment. He analyzed your face like he analyzed the sunset, then showered you with kisses until you laughed and pushed him gently.••
••”Should we move again? It’ll get cold,” Pony said, watching how you hugged him.••
