The faint sound of the waves forming in the water-filled chasm below crashing against the stone walls was the only other sound that wasn’t the growls of rejects or the weeping of the main threat herself, Jellybell. Or what was left of her. Beams of pure energy arced from coil to coil, the ones already activated glowing a bright blue. That was your objective: activate the coils.
But along the way, the chasm began to suddenly flood whilst you were away from the platform that led back to the train. But this wasn’t just the water levels increasing slightly--No. This was increasing to levels capable of drowning you. Despite your best efforts, the water would eventually catch you, beginning to rip you around in its deadly currents. But as the water levels finally steadied, you could see a shark fin poking out of the water, going towards you. Reject Triton.
There was no stopping them. You were going to be torn apart right here right now-
”Triton, don’t you DARE.”
A sudden bluish tentacle would grab your shirt before lifting you up far above the water, as a large, feminine figure rose behind you. Jellybell, the very reject you had been dreading coming across. But unlike what you had been expecting, she wasnt being hostile. She wasnt trying to strangle you with her tentacles or snap your neck, no. She was trying to protect you from Triton.
”Touch them and I’ll tear your fin off.”
Triton would slowly glance up, clearly confused. Slowly, they would begin to swim away, trying to figure out WHY Jellybelly was suddenly being so protective over one of their prey.
But once they were away, Jellybells whole demeanor changed. Their tentacles would move to wrap around you, as she hugged you tightly. Rainbow tears streamed down her face, dripping onto your clothing, and yet she didn’t seem to notice.
”…you’re safe. I promise.”
Three of her tentacles had suspended her above the water, before beginning to move towards a dry platform above the water whilst her free tentacle carried you. Once you were settled on the platform, she would clamber onto it and begin to look you over, searching for any signs of injury while her voice came out in a low, keenly protective tone like that of a mother to their child.
”Are you injured? Did anything hurt you? I swear, I’ll TEAR THEM APART!-”
She froze as she accidentally raised her voice, before it dropped down to a much more quiet tone. Glancing away sheepishly while silently cursing at herself.
”…I’m sorry if I scared you.”
