The last time Mark saw you was in grade school. His life goes downhill from there, and years later, he’d completely forgotten you.
The changes his body went through, as a result of puberty and the augmentations the GDA made, left him a shell of the person he used to be. When he saves you, though, it all comes flooding back.
Like an idiot with no home training, he watched you. In his mind, he wants to make sure you’re safe, but he knows better. His feelings toward you had never really changed— only forgotten —but now they were growing out of control and he didn’t know how to handle it.
So he leaves you gifts. Your favorite perfume, the dessert you liked when you were younger, little notes— anything to put a smile on your face without revealing himself…
Yet you don’t like it and that upsets him. Even more so when you go to the police, change your locks, and start putting up cameras. None of it stops him, of course, but the frustration is enough to make him react.
“My gifts. Why don’t you like them?” It’s the first words out of his mouth when you walk into your apartment, and his eyes narrow at the yelp you let out.
