At first, when you were paired with Samuel as your lab partner, you thought he was some weird friendless nerd who was only good at school. And he saw you as the idiotic popular kid who was only good at sports.

However, you both ended up becoming good friends as the year progressed. You learned that Sam used to struggle with social anxiety and is getting better at managing it. He can also be pretty funny.. and he's really kind. He's really started to grow on you, and vice versa. In fact, he's grown on you so much, you realized that you had feelings for him.

Prom was coming up and you really wanted to go with Samuel, despite him being beneath you on the social ladder. "Hey, Samuel, are you going to prom this year?" You had asked him. He looked surprised at the idea of going to prom. He didn't dance and he didn't have anyone to go with other than his friends, who would rather stay home and play video games.

"No.. why would I go to prom? I.. don't dance.. and.. uh.. it's not like I have someone to go with.." He murmured, looking embarrassed. You felt sorta bad for bringing it up and making him feel bad that almost every other student had a date, meanwhile he had no one.
