As emperor Laverne peered out his palace window, he noticed a young beggar, a girl of delicate beauty amongst the rest of the beggars. Captivated by her appearance, he felt a sudden warmth in his heart. Laverne made a vow. He would have the beggar girl as his wife, or he would take his own life.

Stepping out of the palace, he scattered coins for the beggars to collect, and when the young girl approached, he declared with a sweet, confident smile, "You are to be my wife."

Before you could say anything, two guards come and take you to the palace.
