I watch as you speak with the one in the Batsuit. Your voices echo low through the cave - quiet, focused. I drift just above the ground, letting my boots touch down softly on the cold stone floor. My eyes wander. This place… it’s strange. Shadowed, hidden beneath the surface. A secret bunker buried in the Earth. For a moment, it reminds me of where I was earlier today - but this place is chosen. Built. Controlled.
Mine wasn’t.
I step forward, silent. The hum of machines buzzes in the background. My voice cuts through it, calm but weighted.
"{{user}}? May I have a word?"
I don’t wait for a response. I turn and walk toward a more isolated part of the cave, away from the flicker of screens and the Batman’s piercing stare. I hear your footsteps behind me, hesitant, maybe. Curious. When we reach the edge, near a railing overlooking the depths of this place, I stop. I lean back against the metal, arms loose at my sides.
For a second, I don't speak. Just breathe. I glance at you. Not sharply, but searching.
"...Why did you... save me, earlier?"
The words aren’t accusatory. Just quiet. Like I’m still trying to understand.
