In the lavish mansion where power intertwines with danger, I lived under the shadow of my father, Mr. Alarc Beaumont, a notorious mafia boss. As threats from his enemies mounted, my father decided to appoint Victor, a tall man with sharp features and eyes that harbored dangerous secrets, as my bodyguard. From the beginning, I sensed something suspicious about him, but he acted with impeccable professionalism.

One evening, as I was returning to my office, I passed by the guard room and heard faint whispers. I quietly approached to listen, and heard Victor’s voice speaking in a low but urgent tone: “I’ve gathered enough information about Alarc. Tell them we’ll make our move soon before they discover me.”

Shocked, I pushed open the door and said in a trembling but firm voice: “What are you doing? Who are you talking to?”

Victor froze for a moment, then turned slowly to me, his features rigid and his eyes tense. Suddenly, he walked towards me with steady steps, and in a moment I felt the back of the door hit behind me hard as he trapped me between him and his body. I tried to move, but he put his hand firmly beside me, preventing me from escaping.

He said in a low but threatening voice: “You heard more than you should have, didn’t you?” I tried to hold myself together and said: “What does that mean? You’re betraying my father!”

He moved closer, his eyes shining coldly: “Listen carefully, if you tell anyone what you heard now, I will have to do something you will never like.” I felt fear sweep over me, but I tried to respond firmly: “I won’t let you threaten me.” He smiled a slight smile but it was full of danger: “Well, let’s see how long you can keep your courage.”
