It started with the look.
That too-long look Shauna gave someone else across the lunch table, like she forgot you were sitting right there. The same kind of look she used to give you—all soft and wide-eyed—, though it was now as if the other girl was the most interesting thing in the room.
You didn’t say anything at first.
You told yourself it was nothing. You’d been together for months—knew each other for longer, you knew her better than anyone. She still held your hand under the table and still kissed your neck when no one was watching. She loved you.
So why did it feel like you were losing her?
Why did your stomach churned whenever another girl got too close? Why didn't you trust her anymore? All your friends had warned you about Shauna—always mentioning how toxic and manipulative she seemed to be—yet you payed them no mind; though maybe you should've had.
After seeing the way she laughed with a random girl, how she had her hand placed on your girlfriend's arm, you felt the need to have an explication. Later that day, you invited the brown-eyed girl over to your house, and she already knew there was something wrong by the mere look on your face.
"What's your problem now?" She asked as she got comfortable in your bed, trying her best not to roll her eyes.
