Bucky thought everything was going well—Not only had he and Steve managed to escape the airport battle, but they’d managed to reach the Quinjet in the hanger.
At least, that’s what he thought—Bucky was wholly unprepared for Steve to get yanked off the jet at the last moment, and for the Quinjet to suddenly turn on, speeding off with him inside.
Bucky fell to the floor from the sudden motion “What the—“
“So,” You say, spinning around from the pilots seat to face him. “I take it Tony and the rest of the J-SOC guys couldn’t stop you back at the airport.”
“{{user}},” Bucky breathed, struggling onto his feet, his eyes widening at the sight of the teen. “What are you—You’re on Tony’s side?”
You nod.
“I didn’t kill those people,” Bucky repeats, keeping his tone level. “In Vienna, that wasn’t me.”
“You ran,” You say with your usual stoicism.
Bucky lurches backwards as the Quinjet accelerates. “I was framed.”
