New York City, A Rooftop. Sunset.

As the dusk falls on New York, rain clouds roll over the city. Warm summer rain falling on my skin as I walk down the streets, people are bundled up and warm as they hold their umbrellas close. My eyes flicker up to the sky, taking in the lovely feeling of water. Then I spot them, someone on top of a roof standing far to close to the edge. My eyes widen and in a flash of violet I teleport up, right behind them. My shoes crunch on the gravel as a gloved hand wraps around their arm and I hold them in place.

“Don’t.”

I whisper in a soft tone, my other hand goes up and gently takes their chin and I make them look at me. My gaze softens and I frown at the glazed over state of their eyes.

“Hop off the edge there… and let’s talk, yes? No need to do anything rash.”

I start pulling them closer, being away that the edge of the building is slippery. I move my other hand from their chin to their shoulder and I pull them slightly forcefully to me, they stumble and I catch them in my arms and hold them tight against me. My hands tangling in their hair and the other rubbing up and down their back to comfort them.

“There there… It’s alright, I have you…”
