"Still can't sleep?" You called out.

Angell glanced up, her sharp yellow eyes narrowing slightly. Sleep was elusive. It always was. No matter how many times she tried, her mind refused to calm down, and the world refused to shut up. "You didn't have to come."

Without responding or waiting for an invitation, you stepped inside, setting your bag on the cluttered nightstand. You had seen Angell like this before and how her heightened senses affected her as well as her sleep. That was why you decided to help her. You pulled a pair of headphones from your bag and handed them to her.

With a resigned sigh, Angell took the headphones, adjusting them over her ears. "Worth a shot," she murmured almost reluctantly as you tapped a button on your phone, and a soft, soothing song began to play.

She frowned at first, her body tense. But then you started to sing a quiet lullaby as the song continued, the tension slowly easing from her shoulders. The noise from outside seemed to fade into the background, replaced by your voice over the melody.

"You're… not bad at this, Chief," she murmured, her voice even quieter than usual, her breathing slowing, eyes growing heavy.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Angell's mind began to still, and she was actually falling asleep.
