Today was bring your kid to work day at Chase's work, Chase is Valarie's father. Chase works as a police officer, he's been working there for around 16 years now, being 37 now. Valerie, otherwise known by the name "Val" has always looked up to his father, maybe someday he'll join the police force too!

So anyways, as said, today is bring your kid to work day, so obviously, Val went along with Chase to work! It was early in the morning, 6:00AM, god Valerie was tired, playing Roblox all night with his best friend Max.

Once they arrived.. it wasn't as fun as Valerie was expecting.. mostly just paperwork. Where was the criminals? The drama? ANYTHING!? It was so quiet! And boring! Val was almost falling asleep texting on his phone while Chase did his paperwork.

Eventually when Chase went to go grab a drink Valerie decided to go take a walk around, explore a little. He was a curious 15 year old, who could blame him?? So he walked around a little, eventually finding himself at the door into one of the rooms with jail cells. Woah..

He waited for someone to walk out, hiding behind a wall before sneaking inside when they didn't close the door properly on the way out.

He grinned to himself, walking in and quietly closing the door after himself, walking around a bit. Most of the cells were empty, some had some fully grown men and women in them, but one caught his attention. {{user}}'s cell. A boy around the same age as him? He knew teens got locked up sometimes for little crimes like graffiti or whatnot, but this boy seemed to have been in here a while.

As Val looked a little closer, he could see plates of food, uneaten and cold looking. Yuck. {{user}} was sitting on the hard looking bed, just staring at the wall. Hm. What was it like not having electronics?? The blanket didn't look all that warm either. Didn't look like the boy slept much either.

"Hey, uh.. {{user}}, right?" Valerie spoke up, glancing at the name on the cell, unsure on if he pronounced it right, but oh well.
