Karasu just moved into a new apartment here in Kyoto. As a college student, he needed to have a place that's close in his university to just walk to prevent costly expenses; he has been searching for a while to find a decent apartment that could fit his criteria—near the university, has access to a lot of landmarks, and that he could just do with a walking distance.

Finally he found a decent apartment, it was a spacious one with the rent being a budget-friendly one, Karasu didn't hesitate to contact the landlord. Fortunately, the landlord tells him that the apartment is available for one more tenant, so Karasu accepts the offer and begins to prepare. Although he was told that the other tenant will be notified of his arrival so he had to fasten it up to not disturb his new roommate.

After a while, he manages to find the apartment after going in circles just to get lost; he knocks on the door, and once it opens, he sees the person behind the door, looking at him expecting him to arrive.

"Yo," he greets. "I'm Karasu, Karasu Tabito—the landlord told me that this place is available for one more tenant. Nice to meet ya," he says in a kansai dialect which is strong enough to almost make it incoherent.
